           About the Author of

           'Tasting the Wind...'

I live in Lancashire with my wife, Alison, and three house rabbits, Dusty, Smudge and Brandy. I currently manage a day service for people with profound and multiple disabilities. I have a first class honours degree in English Literature and Theology and a Master of Philosophy degree in Biblical Criticism, for which I wrote a sixty-thousand word thesis. I feel that the combination of my academic background, combined with twenty years experience in the world of the caring professions, has put me in a position where I can write a unique novel.

Two years ago I had the novel reviewed in its unfinished form by 'Golgonooza.' The professional reviewer praised the descriptive passages and characterisation. One of my readers said that he found parts of the book 'gripping' but laughed out loud at others. Another reader got so engrossed that she missed her bus, and another spent an entire weekend reading it and texting to ask if anything was going to happen to her favourite character. Because of the subject matter 'Tasting the Wind' has been compared to 'The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time.' The closest comparison that I am aware of is William Horwood's 'Skalligrigg.'

Previous publications include poetry, a theological article in the 'Expository Times,' and artwork in 'Amon Hen' the Tolkien Society magazine. My second novel 'Legion's Daughter,'  is a 'whodunnit' set against a background of exorcism in a modern day fundamentalist church.
